![]() ![]() We have had 1 computer that was affected and it resloved by itself after 5 hours of re-booting every 4 minutes.ġ)Uninstall the last 3 windows updates "KB4579311", "KB4578968" and "Flash player update" by navigating to Control panel>Programs and Features>View installed updates.Ģ)Move the affacted computers (temporarily) to a site/network with a different subnet internet connection and different DNS.ģ) Plug in a different mouse and keyboard. Many hours have been spent stuffing around with every suggestion we could find including disable ntfs compression with fsutil, Dism online refresh, sfc /scannow other decompress.exe commands etc. The crash does not happen in safe mode where windows update in inpoerable. The affected computers we have so far identified all have a 7th generation intel CPU and running the latest W10 32 bit version 2004 (OS build 19041.572). I also believe this INTEL windows update is some now causing the crash when it tries to install and you are internet connected. This happens when Idle and internet connected every 3-4 minutes and the BSOD can be reliably triggered by going to windows update via the modern Metro W10 UI and crashes within a second or selecting the "Update & Security" link and at this point you can sometinmes see there is a pending update for an INTEL Driver (which you can momenterilly see is trying to install before the systen crashes). The symptom of this error is (as already explained by others here) that the affected computer gets the BSOD system_thread_exception_not_handled for WppRecorder.sys. We have a fleet of approximatly 100 computers and I have wasted approximatly 30 hours on this issue since last Friday 23/10, the problem has affected approximatly 7 computers so far wthat we know of. This is a frustrating, misterious and tricky issue to resolve.
